About

Our Philosophy

Patients receive care in the comfort of their own homes. Services are available to persons who can no longer benefit from curative treatment; the typical life expectancy of a patient is six months or less. Services are provided by a team of trained professionals – physicians, nurses, counselors, therapists, aides and volunteers who provide medical care and support services not only to the patients, but to the entire family. Referrals can be made by family members, friends, clergy or health professionals. All patients of Hospice of Imperial Valley receive the same level of care regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, national origin.

Persons with a life expectancy of six months or less.

Persons in the last phases of any illness, including heart disease, cancer, ALS, Alzheimer’s, AIDS, neurological and renal diseases, chronic lung disease, and other end-stage organ diseases. Both the doctor and patient agree to the need for care that provides comfort, not curative, treatment of the disease.

Referrals

Anyone can make a referral by calling Hospice of Imperial Valley at 760-352-8905 or fax 760-352-0845. Referrals can be made by family members, friends, clergy or health professionals. After referral, the patient and family is contacted to arrange an informational or admission meeting with Hospice staff.

Payment

Medicare, Medi-Cal, and most private insurance companies cover 100% of the costs of hospice services.
